The Section feature helps teachers divide the test into content groups, such as: Multiple Choice, True/False, Essay, or sections based on topics and difficulty levels.
Create a new section
- Open the test you are editing.
- Select Section on the toolbar at the bottom of the page.
- The system will create a new section in the test.
- Enter or edit the section name to accurately describe the content, for example:
- Section 1: Multiple choice questions.
- Section 2: True/False questions.
- Section 3: Essay exercises.
- Select Add question in the newly created section.
- Create a new question or add questions from the library, files, and AI.
- Continue creating other sections if needed.
Set up question shuffling in each section
At the top right corner of each section, teachers can choose one of three modes:
No shuffling
Questions and answer options are displayed exactly in the order arranged by the teacher.
Suitable for:
- Linked questions.
- Reading passages with sequential questions.
- Questions that need to be completed from easy to difficult.
- Essay sections or multi-step exercises.
Shuffle questions
The system changes the order of questions within the section for each student or attempt, but keeps the order of answer options unchanged.
Suitable when teachers want to create different test orders but do not want to change the position of the answers.
Shuffle questions and answers
The system changes both the order of questions and the order of answer options.
Suitable for multiple-choice tests with independent questions where limiting student answer sharing is necessary.
Manage sections
Click the three dots icon next to the section to open management options. Depending on the system interface, teachers can edit the name, duplicate, or delete the section.
Before deleting, check the questions within the section to avoid unintended content loss.
Notes
- Each section should have a clear name consistent with the test structure.
- Do not shuffle interdependent questions.
- Do not shuffle options with content like “All of the above” or “Both A and B”.
- Check the points for each section to ensure the total test score is accurate.
- Preview the test after setting up shuffling modes.
- If the test has multiple sections, the instruction section should clearly state the requirements and how to complete each section.
