This feature allows NineQuiz to automatically select questions from the library when a player starts a Quick Quiz. Each player or each turn can receive a different set of questions according to the teacher's configuration.
Steps to perform
- Open the Quick Quiz being edited.
- Select Library on the toolbar.
- Select Random questions from library.
- Set up the source library and question range.
- Enter the number of questions to be taken and the total score for the group.
- Review the configuration before publishing.
Settings items
Source library
Select the library containing the questions that the system will use.
Teachers can choose a personal library or a library with shared access.
Question categories
Limit the scope of question retrieval by category, for example:
- Algebra.
- Geometry.
- Grammar.
- Vocabulary.
- General knowledge.
If All is selected, the system can retrieve questions from all categories in the source library.
Question groups
Filter questions by groups created in the library, for example:
- Basic.
- Advanced.
- Chapter 1.
- Exam preparation.
- Review.
If All is selected, the system does not limit questions by group.
Question types
Select one or more question types allowed to appear in the Quick Quiz.
If All is selected, the system will randomly select from compatible question types within the selected range.
Number of questions to take
Enter the number of questions the system needs to select for each turn.
Example: If the library has 100 matching questions and you enter 10, each turn will receive 10 randomly selected questions.
Total group score
Enter the total score for the entire random question group.
The system will use this total score to calculate points for the questions in the group. Teachers should re-check the overall total score of the Quick Quiz before publishing.
Create multiple random question groups
Teachers can create multiple configurations to retrieve questions from different topics or levels.
Example:
- Group 1: Take 5 questions from the Vocabulary category, total 5 points.
- Group 2: Take 5 questions from the Grammar category, total 10 points.
- Group 3: Take 3 questions from the Advanced group, total 6 points.
Use the copy icon to duplicate a configuration, then adjust the category, group, or number of questions. Select the trash can icon to delete an unused configuration.
Notes
- The number of matching questions in the library must be greater than or equal to the Number of questions to take.
- Category, group, and question type are applied simultaneously when filtering.
- If the filtering range is too narrow, the system may not have enough questions to create the Quiz.
- A sufficiently large source of questions should be prepared so that turns are different.
- Questions in the same group should have equivalent difficulty and point values.
- Questions that depend on the content of the previous question should not be used.
- If Sudden Death is enabled, carefully check the answers of all source questions.
- You should playtest multiple turns to check randomness, difficulty, and total score.
