The Display Options section in Advanced Settings allows teachers to adjust how questions and answer choices appear on the test interface.
How to set up
- Open the quiz you are editing.
- Open Advanced Settings.
- Find the Display Options section.
- Set up the numbering style, number of questions per page, and number of answers per row.
- Preview the quiz before publishing.
1. Question numbering
Set how the system displays the question order or corresponding symbols, for example:
- A, B, C…
- 1, 2, 3…
- Other formats supported by the system.
A consistent style should be used throughout the quiz to make it easy for students to follow and compare.
Note: If the test content or instructions refer to question numbers, choose the corresponding display style to avoid confusion.
2. Number of questions per page
Specifies the number of questions displayed on each page.
Example: If a test has 100 questions and you choose 50 questions per page, the quiz will be divided into two pages.
Setup suggestions
- Long questions with images or videos: fewer questions per page should be displayed.
- Short questions: more questions can be displayed.
- Tests on mobile phones: the number of questions per page should be reduced.
- Long tests: should be divided into multiple pages for an easy-to-follow interface.
Note:
- Displaying too many questions may cause the page to load slowly.
- Dividing into too few questions per page may force students to switch pages many times.
- Check answer saving when students switch between pages.
3. Number of answers per row
Specifies the number of answer choices displayed horizontally.
Display one answer per row
Each option is on its own line. Suitable for:
- Options with long content.
- Answers with images.
- Students taking tests on mobile phones.
- Tests requiring a clear and easy-to-read interface.
Display multiple answers per row
Multiple options are placed side by side. Suitable for:
- Short options.
- Questions in the form of numbers, symbols, or single words.
- Students mainly taking tests on computers.
Note: If the option content is long, displaying multiple options per row may cause the text to be narrowed or difficult to read.
Recommendations
- Prioritize one option per row for better compatibility with multiple devices.
- Reduce the number of questions per page if the test has many images, sounds, or formulas.
- Preview the test on both computers and phones.
- Display settings should not be changed after the test has started.
