The Results will be displayed section in Advanced settings allows teachers to decide when students can review their work after submission.
This setting does not change the grading mechanism. Questions with correct answers are still automatically graded by NineQuiz; essay questions or file uploads still require manual grading by the teacher.
How to set up
- Open the quiz you are editing.
- Open Advanced settings.
- Find the Results will be displayed section.
- Select one of the four modes.
- Review the settings before publishing.
Display modes
1. Hide results
After submission, the system still automatically grades questions with answers and returns scores to students. However, students cannot review the question content and detailed work.
This mode is suitable when:
- Exam content security is needed.
- Questions will be reused.
- The quiz is organized in multiple shifts.
- Teachers do not want students to share questions or answers.
Note: “Hide results” does not mean stopping grading or hiding scores. The system still processes and returns scores after students submit, but does not display the content of the completed questions again.
2. After teacher grades
Students can only view their work and detailed results after the teacher completes grading and confirms the score.
This mode is suitable for:
- Essay quizzes.
- Open-ended questions.
- Questions requiring file uploads.
- Quizzes combining automatically and manually graded questions.
Note: Teachers need to confirm the results for students to view them. Before that time, the final score may be incomplete.
3. After the scheduled time ends
Students can only review the content and detailed results after the scheduled quiz time ends.
This mode is suitable when:
- Students start or submit at different times.
- The quiz is held within a specific time frame.
- There is a need to limit early submitters from sharing questions and answers.
Example: A quiz is open from 08:00 to 10:00. A student who submits at 09:00 will have to wait until the scheduled time ends to view detailed results.
4. After student submits
Immediately after submission, students can view their work and the results recorded by the system.
This mode is suitable for:
- Practice quizzes.
- Self-assessment quizzes.
- Review quizzes needing immediate feedback.
- Quizzes that do not require question security.
Note: For essay questions or file uploads, the results displayed immediately after submission may not be the final score because the teacher has not yet graded them manually.
Selection suggestions
- Need question security: select Hide results.
- Contains essay questions: select After teacher grades.
- Organized in multiple shifts within a time frame: select After the scheduled time ends.
- Practice quizzes needing immediate feedback: select After student submits.
