Covid-19 has affected all activities of the Vietnamese education sector in particular. At the beginning of the 2021–2022 school year, Hanoi and several other provinces and cities held online or televised opening ceremonies on September 5th. Ho Chi Minh City was the first locality to announce that it would not organize an opening ceremony but would start the new school year directly with online learning. Provinces less affected by Covid also frequently suspended in-person classes whenever community transmission cases appeared in the local area.
Online teaching helps improve the deadlock situation when travel and community contact are major concerns for society.
